Prerequisites
Before approaching a trading board, ensure you own tradable items — most squishy dumplings in your inventory qualify, but some event tokens or locked quest rewards may not. You need at least one item or accepted cash equivalent the other player wants. Review Item List to know what you hold and Tier List to know what it is worth.
Join a server with active traders. Peak hours after school and weekend afternoons fill 25-player lobbies fastest. If boards look empty, server hop via Roblox menu until you find a cluster of players at hub trading zones listed in Trading Boards.
Step 1 — Stand on the Trading Board
Trading boards are glowing pads or marked platforms on the map. Walk your character onto the pad until a trade UI prompt appears. Both traders must stand on compatible board slots — usually facing each other on opposite sides of the same board instance. If nothing opens, reposition slightly; lag sometimes delays detection.
Never initiate trades away from the board UI. Players asking for "trust trades" in chat want you to drop items without system protection. Legitimate Trade Squishy Dumplings trading always flows through the board interface described here and in official patch notes at Patch Notes.
Step 2 — Drop Items and Use the Plus Button
Once the trade window opens, you see two panels: yours and your partner's. Open your inventory from the trade UI and select items to offer — they appear as icons on your side of the board. To add more items, tap the plus button after each drop until your offer is complete.
Your partner simultaneously builds their offer. Watch their panel live. Scammers may start with a fair item then remove it hoping you confirm first — always wait until both sides lock visually and neither party is animating changes. Compare totals mentally using Trade Calculator tiers, not just item counts.
Cash, if tradable in current patches, adds through the same inventory flow. Verify amounts digit by digit — "50" versus "500" mistakes hurt.
Step 3 — Confirm or Cancel
When satisfied, press the check mark to mark ready. Trades execute only when both players confirm. If something feels wrong, hit the cross to cancel instantly — no penalty beyond lost time. You can re-open trade with the same player after adjusting offers.
After dual confirmation, items teleport between inventories automatically. Screenshot high-value trades for personal records. Roblox rarely reverses completed trades, so the check mark is your final decision point. See Scam Protection for pressure tactics traders use to make you confirm early.
Common Mistakes New Traders Make
Rushing confirmation: Always re-read both panels after partner says "ready."
Ignoring mutations: A Glitter Common can outvalue a plain Rare — check Mutations.
Trading without tier knowledge: Study Tier List before session one.
Accepting off-board deals: Only the board UI is safe.
Overvaluing code items: Free Codes rewards still have market tiers — do not assume "free" means "priceless."
Advanced Trade Negotiation
Before stepping on a board, state your intent in chat briefly — "B-tier dupes for Rare gap" filters serious partners from beggars. During negotiation, ask partners to hold items stable for three seconds before either side marks ready. If they animate inventory changes repeatedly, cancel and re-invite rather than racing confirm buttons.
Multi-hop trades (A to B to C) happen outside UI — coordinate trust carefully or split into direct board trades only. Middleman Discord servers are not safer than boards; see Scam Protection. For collection-specific needs, naming the exact Item List entry you want speeds fair deals because partners know you are not flip-reselling.
Practice cancel muscle memory: cross button first, questions second. Scammers exploit hesitation after long negotiations — a quick cancel resets power balance.
Post-Trade Review Habits
After each significant trade, mentally review: Did I learn a new item name for Item List? Did partner behavior trigger any Scam Protection flags worth remembering? Did calculator math match gut feel — if not, study why mutation or event premium moved the deal. Continuous review builds trader intuition faster than grinding boards without reflection.
